The popular instant messaging app WhatsApp is working on pushing out the much-awaited self-destructing message feature for its users via the latest Android Beta version number 2.19.348,

The feature is simultaneously being rolled out on Android Beta version number 2.19.348. Users who have enrolled themselves for Google Play beta programme can download the latest version. Alternatively, you can also manually download the app via APK available on the APK Mirror platform.

The feature is under development and the Facebook-owned app is still working on the update. Reportedly, whatsApp has renamed the feature's name from 'Disappearing Messages' to 'Delete Messages'.

This feature will firstly be available for group chats only. Once available, the feature can be toggled in the Contact Info or Group Settings. However, it can be enabled by administrators only.
According to reports, the 'Delete Message' feature will come with a toggle on/off button and users can choose a particular time interval for the messages to automatically disappear. As for the time intervals, users shall have five options to choose from - 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month and 1 year.

Accordingly, the messages sent to that chat will disappear. For example, if the time interval is 1 hour, every message sent in that particular chat will disappear after an hour.

This feature is different from the "Delete for Everyone" feature that WhatsApp released a while back. The 'Delete for Everyone' feature lets users delete messages while displaying the following message: This message has been deleted. However, with the disappearing messages features, no such message will be highlighted and it will seem like such a message never existed. Disappearing or self-destructing messages isn’t new and is already available on messaging apps like Telegram and Signal.
Coming to the dark mode feature, WhatsApp may soon roll out the ‘Dark Mode’ feature on phones starting with iOS 13 users, as reports suggest. WhatsApp, however, has not officially confirmed as to when the feature will be live.

WhatsApp also recently rolled out call waiting support, chat screen redesign and other features for its iPhone users..
